Thank you for Flying-Club’s fans fight against HOBBYTRON

Hello,

I bought 3 "Picco Z" helicopters last month from Hobbytron. All three were non-functional within the first week.
The first one I unboxed died in mid-air 2 seconds into it's first flight. It was completely unresponsive after that (blue LED would blink twice and then stop, no response from the controller).

The second one stopped charging after the first few charges. The connector didn't seem to work properly. The third fake helicopter's rotor blade broke on its second flight. I have sent Hobbytron an email regarding this and hope they do the right thing, but am totally disappointed in their fleecing of American citizens and Silverlit's engineering by knowingly selling fake and DANGEROUS products, at a higher price than the original, to the public.
If Hobbytron doesn't refund my money in full I will be notifying my State Attorney's General office, the Better Business Bureau and I will burn them on every website I visit.

I've bought three Air Hogs Havoc RC heli's at Target and they are all still going strong after three weeks. The Havoc's materials and overall craftsmanship are obviously superior to the knock-off's sold by Hobbytron. I can provide pictures of the box and remaining imitation Picco Z I have. The other two had to be used for parts to keep this one running for a week (before it too was completely inoperable).

Please let me know how I should proceed to get a resolution from Hobbytron.

This email is with respect to:
http://www.silverlit-flyingclub.com/news.htm,

And my experiances with Hobbytron.
  1. Purchased 3 PicoZ after seeing KSL show on this helicopter
  2. Receive 2 DOA controllers
  3. Was a nightmare to obtain RMA, said I must return full product
  4. Hobbytron refused to acknowledge receipt of the returns
  5. Constant harrasment finally resulted in 2 replacements shipped
  6. Replacements were FULLY DOA; both controllers and heli's
  7. Continued refusal to respond
  8. Today spoke to Becky and demanded refund and she refused outright refund/return. Said I needed to again send back product for their testing (here we go again). I stated the product *CLEARLY* has problems and felt full refund was justified at this point to whcih she said terms of sale is "NO REFUNDS PERIOD" and that they have only replaced 200 of 50,000 sold.
  9. I'm now logging the fact that their RMA voicemail is *ALLWAYS* full and there continues to be *NO* reponse to their RMA procedures and I'm doing this since I live in Utah and can/will submit a full complaint to the Utah Department Of Consumer Protection.
  10. In searching the internet it's MORE than clear that many people have had the exact same experiance I have had with Hobbytron. And it's equally clear others are having great difficulty with returns. Given Hobbytrons web site now includes a very specific requirement of reporting problems to them by Jan 20, 2007 (and one must put in a heroic effort to have success) it's again clear they are trying to perform damage control and avoid their responsibilites to their customers!

    Thank You!
